My name is Alex and I am the Battalion Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) at Ravenwood High School. I help to shape my community through leadership and participation in various community service events. Unfortunately, COVID-19 brought my world, and these events, to a complete stop.

Inspired by President Roosevelt, I decided that even without formal structure I could remain active. In a time that is both difficult and scary, I chose to share kindness in order to lift the spirits of my community. Even though the world feels bleak, I know that we as a community can heal and prosper by remaining optimistic and by showing compassion for one another.

I started this website to share my journey with the hope and intent of helping keep peoples' spirits up as we get through this pandemic together.
